1. Competent Person Package for Painting and Decorating Contractors

Every employer is required under UK law to appoint a Competent Person to assist them to meet their legal health and safety obligations.

With the Competent Person Package you appoint P&D Online to act as your Competent Person.  This may be a suitable option for small painting and decorating businesses that do not have the resources, or someone sufficiently competent in health and safety and are not looking to apply for any of the health and safety accreditation schemes.

This basic package entitles you to:

  • Use of our name to assure your customers that you receive professional advice on all aspects of health and safety that affect your business:  Useful when completing Principal Contractors' Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PPQ's)
  • Access to 24hr. telephone health and safety advice.

What does it Cost?

£120.00 + V.A.T. per year


2. Health and Safety Retainer Scheme for Painting and Decorating Contractors

For Painting Contractors who want the Competent Person Package PLUS help writing their company health and safety policy and assistance with health and safety accreditation scheme applications such as CHAS, SAFEcontractor, Constructionline, EXOR etc, the P&D Online Health and Safety Retainer Scheme for Paintng Contractors offers everything you need.

Services included are:

  • Preparation of Company Health and Safety Policy documentation or review of your existing Policy.
  • Assistance with CHAS, SAFEcontractor, EXOR, Constructionline etc. accreditation applications.
  • Access to 24hr. Telephone health and safety advice.
  • Use of our name to assure your customers that you receive professional advice on all aspects of health and safety that affect your business.
  • Access to a wide range of health and safety documentation including; methods statements, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, Environmental Policies etc.

What does it Cost?

£340.00 + V.A.T. per year


3. Project Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS)

Risk assessments and method statements are an important part of protecting your employees while they carry out their work, as well as complying with the law. If you are a firm with over 5 employees, you are legally obligated to carry out a range of risk assessments. Principal/Main Contractors will ask for a copy of these documents prior to you commencing on site.

With over 30 years experience in the Painting and Decorating Industry, our highly experienced health and safety advisors will provide all your site specific RAMS documentation. It is important to remember that each project is different and will have different safety issues even if the type of works being carried out is the same as for other projects.

You can be secure in the knowledge that the RAMS you receive take into account the actual site conditions, type of project and works being carried out. We will also brief you on the contents of the RAMS documents so that you can confidently pass this information onto your own employees and all other parties who may be affected by your work activities.

What does it Cost?

£35.00 + V.A.T. each project (small to medium projects)

(Larger/complex projects are cost on a project by project basis)


4. Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PPQ’s)

Before painting and decorating sub-contractors can be placed on a Principal/Main Contractor Approved Contractor List, they often have to complete a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and show that they comply with health and safety requirements.

We can complete all Principal/Main Contractor PPQ’s on your behalf and because all our health and safety advisors have an in-depth knowledge of painting and decorating as well as health and safety, you can be confident that we will present your company in a professional, competent manner.

What does it Cost?

Cost depends on the size of the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PPQ). Once you have sent us the PPQ, we will have a look at it and give you a cost based on the time we anticipate it taking to complete. You can then decide if you want us to proceed. Call us for details.
